From 2014 to 2018 A Sailing Origin Story From Norway

April 12, 2023

2014 brought Vertical Shot Expeditions to life. A dream of two photographers - Vlad Donkov and Wojciech Jarosinski - who accidentally met while joy riding a company van in the Midwestern USA. One of the first steps of Vertical Shot Expeditions lead to Northern Norway, to a photography and sailing expedition.

Adventures, which followed, took the team to Tierra del Fuego, Horn, Danube, Nepal, Patagonia, Sweden and many more. But the Norway always remained the most important place.

Great adventure, which commenced on a wooden pier in Eidkjosen connected members of the Expedition Cooperative. This post is a recollection of the great moments the team shared exploring Norwegian cost from Hell (67.83 N, 12.83 E) to Nordkapp (almost), from the best beaches of the Atlantic coast, to the best city in the World - Hammerfest, which joys and marvels are a founding of more than one legend.

During the first passage we spent 2 weeks exploring islands South from Tromso. Tromso was our home base throughout the time we sailed in the region

In total, we sailed thousands of miles, exploring the landscapes of Arctic Norway. The Norwegian Sea was usually kind to our adventures and gave us plenty of opportunities for thrilling anchorages

Arctic Norway offers some of the most beautiful landscapes available on our planet

And never missed an opportunity to photograph these views, no matter where a glimpse of great light caught us

We never missed an opportunity for a party too… we may even not missed too many opportunities…

But no matter how intensive a party was, the aurora made us ready to take pictures, always, every time, everywhere

The same rule applied to animals
